Sport Relief has been unveiled as an official charity partner of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
A host of public and high-profile events and activities will be planned through the partnership in the run-up to the highly anticipated multi-sport event, which will take place from 28th July to 8th August this year.
The announcement comes as Sport Relief, which is a Comic Relief brand and campaign, transforms into a year-round fundraiser for the first time in its 20-year history.
Plans are in place for Sport Relief content to be broadcast on the BBC throughout the Games, and all money raised will support vital issues in the UK and worldwide, including mental health, gender equality and the development of young people.
Sport Relief will be working alongside the two Birmingham 2022 official charity partners, United by Birmingham 2022 Legacy Charity and the Commonwealth Sport Foundation.
“We have so many exciting things in store for all Sport Relief supporters to get involved in and enjoy,” Comic Relief CEO Samir Patel said.
