Birmingham City have completed a five-year kit sponsorship deal with Chinese sportswear manufacturer Xtep International Holdings Ltd.

The £7.1m deal is the first Premier League team kit contract secured by a Chinese sports manufacturer and will see Xtep produce Birmingham’s playing and training kit from the start of the 2010/11 season.

Birmingham City’s vice-chairman, Peter Pannu said: ‘Not only is it a superb deal commercially, being the biggest sponsorship the club has acquired, but this partnership will expand the Birmingham City FC brand in the Far East.’

Birmingham City will be added to Xtep’s portfolio of partners which includes Disney Sport (Shanghai) and the Koling brand.

The club’s record sponsorship deal will replace the club’s existing three-year deal with Umbro which will conclude at the end of the current season.
