Stanley Black & Decker has confirmed it will continue its sponsorship of MotoGP as ‘Official Power Tool Supplier’, ‘Official Hand Tool Supplier’ and ‘Official Tool Supplier’ to the motor racing sport, supplying Stanley, Dewalt and Facom tools for races around the world.

Building on the success of the 2013 season, Stanley Black & Decker will also continue to exclusively supply all tools and accessories to the Yamaha Tech3 team – whose rider Bradley Smith signed a personal deal with Bridgestone UK earlier this week.

At the 18 global races across Europe, Asia and USA, all three Stanley Black & Decker brands will feature on the motorbikes and other core team assets including the riders’ leathers and team merchandise.

The global two-year agreement via MotoGP owner, Dorna Sports, will see Stanley Black & Decker hold branded ‘Tool Village Events’ at races in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Spain, where fans will have the opportunity to engage with the company’s products and take part in a series of ‘hands-on’ activities and experiences.

Stanley Black & Decker will also activate in-store and through digital marketing, delivering promotions across all global markets, including the chance to win exclusive VIP experiences such as behind the scenes garage tours, and the opportunity to meet the Yamaha Tech3 riders.

Corner track advertising will also be present at races in Barcelona and Japan.

Darren Barber, senior sponsorship manager at Stanley Black & Decker, said of the extension: ‘The latest developments in the Tech3 team this season add further excitement and value to our partnership. Our continued investment and ongoing commitment to the world of MotoGP provides us with the perfect stage to highlight Stanley Black & Decker’s brand portfolio and engage with our customers through digital and in-store promotional activity, as well as unique live events.’

‘We are impressed with Dorna’s commitment to extending the sport to new territories, with the addition of Argentina this year, and we are very keen to see the development and success of the new young riders in the Tech3 team in 2014.’
