EFL Championship club Blackburn Rovers has revealed law firm Watson Ramsbottom (WR) as the team’s new front of shirt partner for the 2024/25 season.

The law firm’s logo will feature on the front of the men’s team and U21 team’s kits, as well as on the back of the women’s team’s shirts.

Although further terms of the deal were not disclosed, Rovers have hailed the new agreement as a ‘record deal’ for the club.

Lancashire-based Watson Ramsbottom replaces vaping brand Totally Wicked, which served as Rovers’ main shirt sponsor last year, after initially becoming the club’s training kit sponsor in 2018.

The partnership came under scrutiny from UK MPs last year, who criticised the club for allegedly promoting vaping, particularly among young fans.

Totally Wicked featured as the club’s main shirt sponsor last season.

In statement last week, Rovers confirmed it had ended its agreement with Totally Wicked, while stating that the company would ‘continue to be staunch supporters of the club going forward.’

Watson Ramsbottom first partnered with Rovers in 2018, when it became the team’s back of shirt sponsor.

“I’ve been a Rovers fan all my life, since my grandad started taking me when I was about seven,” said Elton Ashworth, Managing Director of Watson Ramsbottom.

“I worked at Rovers in the catering department for a few years in the function suites, looking after some of the directors, a couple of whom are still around now.

“I’ve gone from being one of the waiters in there to the front of shirt partner, so it’s been quite a journey.”

Steve Waggott, CEO of Blackburn Rovers, added, “Watson Ramsbottom are tremendous supporters of the club, and have been so for a number of years, after first becoming our back of shirt sponsor in 2018.

“We’re really pleased to once again be partnering with an organisation embedded within our community as we prepare to celebrate our 30-year anniversary of winning the Premier League.

“It’s extremely important we continue to work closely and have strong relationships with local businesses and this new agreement further signifies our commitment as a club to this.”
