Blackburn Rovers Women has revealed Dakota Biotech as the team’s new front of shirt sponsor for the 2024/25 season.
The Florida-based skincare company’s branding will replace Watson Ramsbottom (WR) on the Women’s Championship club’s shirts, as part of the new agreement.
WR will retail brand visibility on the team’s kits from 2024/25, serving as its back of shirt sponsor. The law firm also recently became the front of shirt partner of the men’s outfit, in a deal that will also take effect from the upcoming campaign.
The partnership comes amid controversy regarding salaries at Blackburn Rovers Women, after the Daily Mail recently revealed that players would be paid just £9,000 annually.
According to the report, the Women’s Championship club’s players aged 21 and over will receive the UK minimum wage of £11.44 per hour next season, operating on 16-hour a week contracts.
The club has reportedly been given a player budget of just £100,000 for the upcoming season.
Rovers’ owner meanwhile, the Venky’s, have been embroiled in an ongoing tax dispute with the Indian government since September last year.
Stephen Buckley, CEO and Founder of Dakota Biotech, said, “We are delighted to be the new front of shirt sponsor for Blackburn Rovers Women.
“We hope the partnership will mean more people will see our name and research Dakota Biotech to see who we are, what we do and how we can benefit their lives.
“We have already had a number of exciting discussions on how we can develop and grow the partnership to encompass our community.”
