Corner, a new wearable performance tracker for boxing, has been launched to help measure, monitor and capture all types of training of the discipline.
The wearable product can be used for sparring, heavy-bag, shadow boxing and pad work, and measures each individual punch live for the user to gain real-time feedback.
Corner provides performance metrics for speed, power and session intensity, also providing a review of the performance. Corner then breaks down the fighters training even further and provides fighter style insights, with each individual punch identified and combinations tracked. This allows round by round feedback for fighters, allowing them to make targeted improvements.

Using the hands-free navigation, both athlete and coach can view the data collected and navigate between the feedback information.
The product is aimed at anyone who is interested in boxing training, whether to improve fitness through boxing training or those who are looking to improve the technical aspect of boxing – ranging from boxing hobbyist, competitive amateurs to professional fighters and coaches of all levels.
Corner started out as a university project from boxing enthusiast Charles Burr, who regularly trained at his local gym. As Burr trained more, he combined his passion for boxing with his mechanical engineering final year project.

Burr teamed up with fellow amateur boxer and Imperial College lecturer, Dr Ravi Vaidyanathan, to work together to develop the first fully functional prototype for the performance-tracking boxing wearable. According to the brand, Corner’s combination of wearable technology and IoT implementation aims to make it possible to provide performance analysis suitable for elite athletes, yet accessible to every athlete and coach striving for improved performance.
