Brandnation has been appointed by Sport Heroes, the French tech start-up founded in May 2014 that uses apps and online technology to build sports communities and encourage participation in sport.
Brandnation’s brief will be to provide PR for Sport Heroes in the UK in addition to supporting a charity-related consumer engagement initiative by Running Heroes, one of Sport Heroes’ online sports communities.
Sport Heroes activities are based on technology that aggregates the data generated from a number of GPS applications, and watch and wristband partners including: Strava, Nike+, RunKeeper, Garmin, Endomondo, MapMyRun, Runtastic, Polar, Suunto, Fitbit, Withings, Jawbone and Jiwok. Sport Heroes uses this data to build innovative digital experiences.
The company also has over 350 brand partners that provide rewards and discounts to users of Sport Heroes communities. Partners include Nike, adidas, Under Armour and Holiday Inn. Since launch, Sport Heroes’ sports communities have reached over 300,000 sports people whilst the company has also managed 24 sports experiences in 62 countries and raised more than 300,000 euros for charity.
Brandnation MD, Mary Killingworth said: “Sport Heroes is shaking up the world of sport with its dynamic, data led approach that opens up so many possibilities for sports fans and brands. Our sports team is delighted to be working with the company to build its UK recognition and drive consumer engagement and participation.”
Quentin Auberger, Sport Heroes UK country director commented: “We are really pleased to be here in the UK and are keen to emulate our great success in France. Brandnation will be working with us to build our UK profile and UK sports communities as well us supporting us on a specific charity initiative that fits with our company ethos of engaging and motivating everyone to be more active in sport.”
