Insurance, investment and pensions group LV= has appointed associative marketing and sponsorship consultancy brandRapport to manage the activation of the company’s sponsorship of rugby union’s LV= Cup.


brandRapport also run the activation for LV=’s cricket sponsorship of the LV= County Championship, and the firm will now be responsible for creating and implementing an activation programme to support the LV= Cup sponsorship, including event management, rights delivery and PR.


The LV= Cup kicked off on 5th November and will culminate with the final in March 2010, to be played at an unconfirmed neutral venue.


The eventual winner, if an English club, will gain a place in the Heineken Cup for next season.


The announcement adds to brandRapport’s rugby sponsorship portfolio, following the activation of Powergen’s sponsorship of the Anglo-Welsh Cup, and Magners’ current sponsorship of the Celtic League.


The next round of LV= Cup matches take place on 29th, 30th and 31st January 2010. The Semi-Finals take place on the weekend of 13th-14th March and the Final will be played on the weekend of 20th March.
