Branson To Continue Supporting Virgin F1

Richard Branson will continue to support the Virgin Racing Formula One team despite a disappointing first campaign for the new F1 team. ??

There had been issues raised with Branson;s commitment to the team after he wouldn’t talk about financially backing the team in the 2011 season in public.??

However, Branson broke his silence after he said that he plans to continue with the team: ‘Yes, for sure.It’s been a fun season and we’ve still got to beat Lotus, and have a few more races to do it.’

‘As I said at the beginning of the season, we knew we were going to be the underdogs again, and we went into it with our eyes open and it is fun building a new team from scratch.’??

Branson declared when the team was started up that it will try to break new ground for the sport by recording a profit.??He explained that the team is spending about £20m less than new rivals Lotus.
