Brazil’s World Cup match against the Ivory Coast broadcast by the BBC was watched by 7.3m people.

The figures indicate that the Brazilian national team continues to draw in viewing figures after their first game against North Korea attracted ITV1 a sizeable 7.1 million viewers between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Gary Lineker presented BBC One’s World Cup Match of The Day Live as Brazil beat Ivory Coast 3-1 and the programme earned a 32.8% share of the viewing.

The BBC will be looking to take a large share of the viewing on Wednesday afternoon as it broadcasts England’s Group C must-win clash against Slovenia.
