British businessman Gary Lubner and British filmmaker Sir Matthew Vaughn have taken minority stakes in Brentford via investment in Best Intentions Analytics.

The investment has been made through Lubner’s This Day and Vaughn’s MARV and has been structured as a minority stake of less than 20 % in the club’s holding company. Matthew Benham remains the majority shareholder of the club since he took full control in 2012.

This additional capital has been aimed at enhancing both football development and commercial operations, enabling greater investment in the squad and boosting the club’s commercial reach.

The investment has followed Brentford’s tenth‑place finish in the Premier League during the 2024–25 season and the rebuild under the new head coach Keith Andrews, with notable departures (including Thomas Frank to Tottenham, Christian Nørgaard, Mark Flekken and Ben Mee) and the high‑profile arrival of England international Jordan Henderson.

On a UK level, this move has been positioned as a strategic effort to strengthen Brentford’s role both in higher‑level competition and within the local community, in part through the expansion of the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Lubner has highlighted Brentford’s community ethos and values as key reasons for his involvement, while Vaughn has described his investment as building on a long‑standing interest that began more than 25 years ago when he first visited a match and saw the club’s potential.

In parallel, Veteran England midfielder Jordan Henderson has signed a two‑year contract with Brentford after Ajax agreed to terminate his deal a year early. This has been Brentford’s second signing under new head coach Keith Andrews and has been intended to bring leadership and Premier League experience to replace several departing senior players.

This combined package of new investment and established player signings has polished Brentford’s readiness for its fifth consecutive season in the Premier League, with fresh financial backing and experienced leadership supporting both match‑day ambitions and long‑term stability.
