Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy has made an improved offer for Scottish Premier League giants Rangers and says he is waiting to hear from the Ibrox club’s administrators.

Kennedy’s initial offer for Rangers was rejected, but the BBC reports that he has come back to the table after Paul Murray’s Blue Knights group failed to pay a £500,000 deposit for exclusivity.

Meanwhile, Ticketus, the ticketing company with rights to more than £25m of ticketing revenue from Ibrox over the next three seasons, told the Press Association: ‘Despite some reports we have been talking to Paul Murray by phone on and off since Monday, we are still talking about a possible joint bid. We are also still in discussion with the Singaporean bidders.’

The Singaporean bidders are led by Bill Ng, with another group headed by American Bill Miller.
