Brian O’driscoll Signs With Bt Sport

Brian O’Driscoll has revealed one of the next steps in his career, after confirming that he will join the BT Sport rugby team as a rugby expert and brand ambassador.

O’Driscoll’s main role for BT Sport will be as a rugby expert on coverage of the newly formed European Rugby Champions Cup and European Rugby Challenge Cup, he will also appear on BT Sport’s weekly Rugby Show – Rugby Tonight.

The former centre, who retired last month as Leinster took the RaboDirect Pro 12 trophy for the fourth time, was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award, sponsored by Singha Beer, at the BT Sport Industry Awards in May.

He has one hundred and thirty three Irish Caps and is the highest try scorer of all time in Irish rugby, he has two Six Nations titles and is the record try scorer in that tournament, went on four Lions tours and won three Heineken Cups.

Brian O’Driscoll said of the move: ‘I’m excited to be embarking on one of the next steps in my career with BT Sport, it’s a big change for me, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and being involved at the inception of the brand new European tournament at a brand new channel like BT Sport.  I’m joining BT Sport because I’ve been impressed by their new and fresh approach to rugby coverage and I’m looking forward to being a part of their team.’
