Brighton & Hove Albion has launched a virtual reality (VR) experience for its supporters to take them behind the scenes.

The Championship club’s virtual reality experience takes supporters behind the scenes on a matchday, giving fans an up-close look at player warm-ups, the tunnel, and at the heart of a goal celebration.

The experience is the first of its kind in this country, according to the club, and following a launch in the fanzone will be exclusively available within the family stand at the stadium from the team’s match with Aston Villa on 18th November.

Brighton & Hove Albion, head of marketing, and Sport Industry NextGen Leader 2016, Tom Gorringe said: “It is important for us to be doing all we can to improve the experience here at the Amex for all supporters, but particularly our younger fans. Having been at the stadium for five years, we wanted to give the family stand a bit of a face-lift and were interested in how we could use innovation and technology to do this.

“The VR experience created is unique in the fact that all of the footage was shot live at a match and it takes you into the heart of the action to places that you wouldn’t normally be able to go. The other aspects of the stand are interactive and in some aspects, educational, and so we hope that this will prove extremely popular with our supporters.”
