Pool betting operator Britbet has announced it will launch its own branded betting pools across 19 UK racecourses.
The new service will cover all 16 racecourses owned by Arena Racing Company (ARC), as well as independent venues Hexham, Newton Abbot, and Ripon. The new Britbet pools will be powered by software from i-Neda Limited, which has provided Britbet’s on-course software since 2018.
Under the new arrangement, Britbet will become the licensed operator of the pools at the 19 venues, managing both on-course betting and off-course connections, which will be handled by ARC. The remaining 37 racecourses within the Britbet partnership will continue to operate pool betting under the Tote brand, with Britbet extending its agreement with UK Tote Group for these courses until October 2030.
Since its launch in 2018, Britbet has grown its on-course pool betting turnover to over £73.6m in 2024. The new pools will see the introduction of new bet types, including a Superfecta and a Pick 4.
Nigel Roddis, Britbet, said, “Branching out into horseracing is a positive step and we are excited about the possibility it presents as we continue in our efforts to deliver the best customer experience for the benefit of our racecourse partners.
“We are owned by the racecourses and work with them to provide a range of services. We are delighted to work with ARC, whilst also continuing the excellent partnership we have with the UK Tote and the delivery of racegoers liquidity to their pools from the majority of racecourses.”
Brendan Parnell, ARC, said, “We are delighted to announce this partnership with britbet to operate pool betting across our venues and partner racecourses. We look forward to working with the britbet team to deliver the highest levels of service and introduce some exciting new bet types for our customers to enjoy in the Superfecta and Pick 4. We look forward to bringing global liquidity into these britbet pools.”
