The British Olympic Association (BOA) has appointed British Airways (BA) as the official airline partner to Team GB for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
BA will fly Team GB’s athletes to and from Rio this summer and also partner with the British Paralympic Association (BPA) and fly the team to the Paralympics.
The airline was also official airline for both the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and has continued its association with Great Britain’s Olympic team.
“Flying home with the airline that carries our flag will be a great way to celebrate the achievements of Team GB, as we look forward to an exciting and hopefully successful Rio 2016 Olympic Games,” Bill Sweeney, chief executive of the BOA, said of the extended partnership. “We are delighted to once again partner with British Airways.”
The campaign was helped launch by rugby 7’s player Dan Bibby and para-triathlete Melissa Reid.
