The British & Irish Lions have revealed a new player profit share agreement for the team’s 2025 tour to Australia.

The new pact will see the implementation of a new partnership model, whereby players will receive a share of the profits generated by the tour.

Under the agreement, the Lions will collaborate closely with players in areas such as match scheduling and preparation.

Players will also be able to partake in a debrief session following next year’s tour, which will comprise three Test matches against Australia on 19th July, 26th July and 2nd August, alongside fixtures against regional club sides.

Throughout the tour, each Lions player will be supplied personally tailored content, which they will be able to distribute across their own social media channels.

“We know that players love playing for the Lions, and it is the pinnacle of their professional careers, and this landmark agreement highlights how they are at the centre of our thinking,” said Ben Calveley, CEO of the British & Irish Lions.

“This announcement reflects the Lions integral role within an aligned professional rugby ecosystem and follows the announcement of our strategic partnership with Premiership Rugby and United Rugby Championship, and the joint venture with Rugby Australia for next year’s Tour.”
