British Triathlon has announced a partnership with University Academy 92 to support children and young people in the community.
From September, UA92 will embed the Active Skills for Life Activator/Leader qualification into its curriculum.
Awarded by British Triathlon, this industry-recognised training will be delivered by trained UA92 lecturers. It will equip students to deliver engaging, inclusive physical literacy interventions and health-focused initiatives in local schools, community groups, and youth organisations.
This hands-on experience strengthens UA92 students’ skills as future practitioners, whilst supporting wider community efforts to foster positive relationships with movement and physical activity, impacting an estimated 250 young people per academic year.
Henry Titley-Wall, Course Leader, UA92, said, “Working closely with our community partners and local schools, we aim to engage as many children and young people as possible through our outreach and curriculum-based activities.
“This is made possible by embedding opportunities such as this into our Sport and Health curriculum and embracing an experiential learning approach, ensuring our students gain experiences while contributing to local communities.”
Durham Women FC have entered into a new long-term technical partnership with hummel, ahead of the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Championship season.
The agreement has marked a return to the Danish sportswear brand, which previously supplied Durham’s playing kits from the club’s formation in 2007 through to 2023.
Under the terms of the new deal, hummel has provided playing and training kit across all teams at the club, with new retail ranges for supporters also scheduled for release.
The partnership will also be integrated into the club’s ‘Back to our Roots’ initiative, which has focused on revisiting key stories and moments in the club’s history – many of which occurred during their earlier period wearing hummel kits.
Durham have competed in the second tier of English women’s football since the league’s formation and have been among the longest-standing clubs at that level.
The new kit partnership has been confirmed ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, following the restructure of the domestic women’s game, which has introduced the rebranded Barclays Women’s Championship and increased commercial interest across the league.
Lee Sanders of Durham Women FC said, “We are delighted to be re-igniting our long-term partnership with hummel. We feel it’s a brand that really aligns with the club, our values and what we are looking to achieve moving forward with the design and ethos of our new stadium and training centre.
“But most of all, this brand is synonymous with the history of this football club and now we look forward to writing the next chapter with them.”
