British Triathlon has announced Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance as the latest addition to its family of sponsors, who become the official cycle insurance supplier to the governing body.

The new relationship will create the opportunity for home nation members to take advantage of extensive cycle insurance and will see Yellow Jersey help to educate the triathlon community about the world of insurance.

Yellow Jersey will also be on hand at a number of British Triathlon events providing the opportunity to talk face to face with the experts.

Sophie Coldwell, the 2014 British Triathlon Elite Junior Triathlete of the Year and Yellow Jersey ambassador, said: ‘It’s great to see Yellow Jersey become an Official British Triathlon Supplier. A lot of people invest significant time and resource into the sport, and yet there is a lack of understanding of how to best protect their investment; it will be great to have Yellow Jersey not only offering great cover, but also providing useful information to triathletes of all levels.’

Jack Buckner, chief executive of British Triathlon commented: ‘We are delighted to be announcing this agreement with Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance. British Triathlon looks forward to creating the opportunity for our athletes and the Home Nation membership to access comprehensive cycle cover as well as working closely with the sport to provide greater understanding on the importance of insurance for us all.’

Ryan Georgiades, Yellow Jersey managing director, added: ‘The Yellow Jersey team is proud to be teaming up with British Triathlon and becoming the cycle insurer of choice for British Triathlon. We started the business because of our own love of cycling and competing in triathlons, so we know how important it is to have adequate cover when competing at home and abroad. We’re excited about supporting Home Nation members ensuring their passion is protected, allowing them to focus on competing and getting the most from their sport.’
