Brother UK, the information communication and technology brand, has today announced the roll-out of its Schools Enterprise Programme from February 2014. The programme will see Brother UK invest over £10,000 into local schools as part of its role as official technology partner of Fulham Football club.
As part of the programme, participating schools will receive the latest Brother technology – ranging from printers, scanners and Brother’s web conferencing service OmniJoin. The project, run in conjunction with the Fulham Football Club Foundation, aims to develop enterprise skills in the students and enhance their understanding of technology in business.
James Lawton-Hill, head of marketing for Brother UK – who also spoke to sportindustry.biz last month about the brand’s plans for the second half of the season – said of the partnership: ‘Since agreeing the partnership, we have been particularly excited about working with the Fulham FC Foundation on the Schools Enterprise Programme. We have enrolled staff members to mentor pupils and teachers and ensure they are getting the most out of the Brother offering. Football represents a great opportunity to get children interested in business, so it’s an initiative we’re committed to delivering.’
Steven Day, CEO for Fulham Football Club Foundation, added: ‘We look forward to working with Brother UK to roll out their Schools Enterprise Programme. We have played a key part in the community over the past 20 years and we always look for ways to increase our educational remit in local schools. We’re extremely grateful for Brother’s support in helping that continue.’
