BT Sport has been announced as an official partner of Arsenal Football Club, which will see the British sports broadcaster promote its live football programming through Arsenal’s digital channels in the UK and Ireland.
Additionally, the agreement will also give BT Sport access to Arsenal’s first-team squad and manager to create exclusive content for its Premier League coverage.
Arsenal’s director of global partnerships and business strategy, Vinai Venkatesham, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome BT Sport to the club as an official partner. In a short period of time they have delivered numerous innovations in sports broadcasting and we are very much looking forward to developing our relationship further to help provide an extra dimension to their coverage.’
The new deal builds on BT’s existing ties with the club, with Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain one of several athletes who featured in the network’s national launch campaign in the summer.
David James, BT’s marketing director, added: ‘We are very pleased to become an official partner of Arsenal Football Club.’
‘We have lots of great ideas about how to make this partnership work for the club, BT Sport and our viewers. There is plenty of excitement around Arsenal this season and we are delighted to be part of that.’
BT Sport, which currently holds the rights to broadcast 38 live Premier League games per season for the next three years, is also an official partner of Manchester City.
