BT Vision has unveiled its sport subscription package, led by coverage of FA
Premier League football, positioning itself as a cheap alternative to rival
media platforms Sky and Virgin Media.

BT Vision Sport will offer 46 live FA Premier League matches and more than
200 nearly-live games as part of its broadband TV service.

Viewers will be able to watch most games from the FA Premier League on a
delayed live basis after 10pm on the day the games are played for a monthly
subscription fee of £4. Alternatively, viewers can pay £1.99 to watch a single
near-live match.

Subscribers can also choose to pay £12 per month to get the additional 46
live FA Premier League games through the addition of the Setanta Sports package
to BT Vision Sport.

BT has said it aims to spend £100 million on its TV plans and expects its
move into the industry to generate profits by 2010. It is targeting 2 million to
3 million customers in the medium term.

An advertising campaign for BT Vision Sport, which kicks off this weekend,
will include TV and press ads featuring the straplines: ‘Premier League football
is now at grass roots prices’ and ‘Football now comes without the lengthy
contract talks’.

BT Vision Sport will be presented by James Richardson, formerly Channel 4’s
Gazzetta Football Italia host and more recently a sports presenter on
Eurosport.
