BT Vision has secured a deal with and Sky to enable its viewers to watch Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from 1st August 2010.
The move comes after Sky was told by the country’s media regulator Ofcom that it must cut the price it charges competitors for its sports channels by up to 23%.
The regulator said that Sky would have to sell Sky Sports 1 and 2 for £10.63 a month each to rival broadcasters.
BT has not yet revealed its pricing for the sports channels but are reportedly considering fees of around £15 a month.
Sky is currently appealing against the Ofcom ruling but the new deal will mean BT’s customers will be able to view the channels in time for the start of the football season.
