Buxton Natural Mineral Water has become the latest brand to renew its sponsorship partnership with the England cricket team.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed a two-year extension to its contract that will see Buxton continue as the exclusive supplier of bottled water to the men’s and women’s national teams until the end of the 2013 season.

The agreement follows the ECB’s extension of sponsorship deals including Adidas, Marston’s Beer and Asda in recent months.

ECB head of commercial partnerships Mark Pearce said: ‘We’d like to thank Buxton for their continuing support for English cricket. This is the second time in four years that the company has renewed its agreement with ECB and their nationwide in-store marketing activity has played an important role in raising the profile of our England teams.’

Jenny Bond, the head of marketing and CCSD at Buxton, added: ‘We are proud to continue as the official water supplier to England men’s and women’s teams.’

‘Like cricket, Buxton Natural Mineral Water is quintessentially British, and the sponsorship remains a fantastic opportunity to promote Buxton and drive sales for our retail partners.’

England, currently world number one in the test rankings, begin their test series with Pakistan today, knowing that victory would guarantee them top spot for the near future.

England and South Africa are currently in a two-horse race for the number one test team, and the annual prize money, at the cut-off date on 1st April.??

The Proteas would need to defeat New Zealand 3-0 on their tour Down Under and England would need to lose to Pakistan by two clear tests.??

The ICC said in a statement: ‘In the scenario of England losing 2-0 and South Africa winning 3-0, both sides will be locked on 119 ratings points, but South Africa will be ranked above England by one 10th of a decimal point.’
