Rugby World Cup Limited has signed Japanese imaging company Canon as an official sponsor of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, taking place in England next autumn.
As part of the new deal Canon will provide the tournament organisers with print and copying solutions for the duration of the competition, running from 18th September to 31st October.
The Canon Professional Services team will also be on site to help professional photographers by providing advice, essential maintenance services, equipment loans and help with minor repairs.
In addition to this, the company will work with RWCL to deliver a range of image-related initiatives to enhance the fan experience.
RWCL chairman Bernard Lapasset said of the deal: ‘This exciting deal with a global leader in imaging represents another exciting boost for Rugby World Cup as we look forward to what promises to be a very special and record-breaking England 2015 tournament.’
James Leipnik, chief of communication at Canon Europe, Middle East and Africa, added: ‘We are thrilled to extend our long history of involvement in the world’s best sporting events by supporting Rugby World Cup for the first time.’
‘Images play a vital role in bringing the emotions and action of global sports to fans that are not able to experience the events in person.’
