Canon is the latest brand to strike a deal with UEFA to become a sponsor of next
summer’s Euro2008 tournament taking the total list of top-tier commercial
partners for the event to 11.
Canon’s multi-million pound sponsorship contract will see the electronics
brand handed onscreen credits that will appear during TV coverage of all of the
matches from the tournament, which is taking place in Austria and Switzerland.
Canon, which already has a sponsorship deal in place with UEFA for the
Champions League, joins the likes of Adidas, Carlsberg, MasterCard, McDonald’s
and Kia as Euro 2008 sponsors.
No financial details of the agreement have been disclosed.
