BSkyB has hit back at rival broadcaster BT’s attempt to attract sports fans to its TV service at discounted prices by recruiting former Manchester United player Eric Cantona to front its new campaign.

The ‘no compromise’ television campaign features Cantona walking through famous moments in sport and saying: ‘Anything can happen in sport The only certainty is you’ll get all of Sky Sports on Sky.’

Rivals BT secured the right to broadcast Sky Sports 1 and 2 after a ruling from Ofcom earlier this year and are offering the service at a discounted price.

Sky’s main selling point is that it is offering all of its sport channels including Sky Sports News, that is set to be removed as a free channel later this year.

Sky’s Cantona fronted campaign comes after BT launched this advert with Michael Owen, Shay Given, Wes Brown and Gareth Bale.

Created by the advert agency Brothers and Sisters the campaign will also feature four different billboards that feature large pictures of Cantona.
