Capgemini has become the official global innovation partner of the men’s and women’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
The new multi-year partnership expands Capgemini’s support of rugby over the last 25 years.
The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is the world circuit of rugby sevens, an Olympic discipline since 2016, featuring ten men’s tournaments and five women’s across the globe. A champion is crowned at the end of each Series based on points accumulated throughout the events.
As part of the deal, Capgemini will also become a key sponsor of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018, taking place in July in San Francisco.
In addition to its global support, Capgemini will bring its expertise to the series with a focus on enhancing the fan experience for spectators.
During the series, it will be providing fans with greater access to insights into the game, the players and the teams. As well as using data and infographics to enhance the tournament experience in stadiums, on television and social, Capgemini will also create a web series presented by a rugby expert to share a deeper perspective on key aspects of the game.
