Ahead of the Capital One Cup final on Sunday the tournament’s title sponsor has increased its activation by unveiling a “remote control defender” as sports fans prepare for a weekend of sport that also includes Manchester City v Liverpool, the RBS 6 Nations and the Cricket World Cup.
Chelsea fans have also been taking on their Spurs counterparts in a battle to #OwnTheArch ahead of Sunday’s showpiece.
Fans of the two clubs have taken to twitter to vote using the hashtags #ChelseaAtWembley or #SpursAtWembley, with the famous Wembley arch to be lit up in the colours of the winning team.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Spurs currently just lead the way with a 57% majority.
Meanwhile, the Capital One has created lockable cases specifically designed to keep satellite television remotes locked down so that fans won’t miss a minute of sport on Sunday. 50 of the Remote Control Defenders are being given away on twitter in a prize draw in the lead up to Sunday.
Jason Carr, head of sponsorship, Capital One, said: “We realised that Sunday is a fantastic day of sport – with the Capital One Cup and Man City v Liverpool for football fans, 6 Nations for rugby fans, plus the Cricket World Cup.”
“We wanted to do something for fans across the country who are desperate to catch all the Capital One Cup action without any interruption.
“Now fans can literally lock on to their favourite sports programme, sit back and enjoy the action.”
Hopeful winners should follow Capital One on Facebook and @CapitalOneUK on twitter.
