Carlsberg has launched the Carlsberg Fan Squad, a dedicated fan task force headed by a trio of celebrity fans, with the aim to amplify fans enjoyment of the beautiful game.
Leading the squad are comedian Paddy McGuinness, former Arsenal and England striker, Ian Wright, and Sky Sports Soccer Saturday’s, Jeff Stelling.
The Carlsberg Fan Squad aims to listen to football fans and understand what can be done to improve fans’ experiences, whether it’s ensuring Barclays Premier League grounds are filled, securing the best spot in the pub to watch the match, or helping fans deal with defeat and the inevitable walk of shame back into the office on Monday.
Former England striker, Ian Wright, said of the Squad: ‘The Fan Squad is Carlsberg’s commitment to the real heroes of football, the fans! Being a fan is a full-time job, complete with its own challenges. The Fan Squad is here to make football better and improve the experience of being a fan!’
The Carlsberg Fan Squad has launched a Twitter promotion through @CarlsbergUK providing fans with the chance to win Barclays Premier League tickets by tweeting their match-day predictions, while the Fan Squad celebrities will be tweeting their predictions ahead of the big fixtures.
Meanwhile, looking beyond the FIFA World Cup this summer, the campaign will also see the launch of an England experience promotion. Bringing the best elements of the pub, living room and stadium together for the ultimate England fan experience, Carlsberg is providing 1,000 fans with the chance to watch England v San Marino, in October, at Wembley.
Dharmesh Rana, Carlsberg senior brand manager, added: ‘As the Official Beer of The England Team and Barclays Premier League and over 20 years in the world of football, we’ve earned the respect of fans. The Carlsberg Fan Squad will provide fans with the chance to win Barclays Premier League tickets and the ultimate fan England experience at Wembley but we won’t stop there. We’ve listened to our fans to understand what we can do to make football even better and our aim is to continue enhancing their football experience.’
Carlsberg recently joined forces with BT Sport to co-fund a subscription package providing pubs and clubs with a discount of up to 50% on a BT Sport subscription, while the beer brand is also an Official Supporter of Wembley Stadium, the Official Tournament Sponsor of UEFA Euro 2016, and the Official Beer Partner of the Barclays Premier League, as well as clubs such as Liverpool and Stoke City.
