Fans from around the globe were able to put the skills of Portugal and Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, to the test in a live challenge streamed on Facebook. The unique test of strength was inspired by fans of the winger and delivered by Castrol EDGE, official sponsor of UEFA Euro 2012.
Castrol EDGE Presents #RonaldoLIVE challenge was created to celebrate the release of Castrol EDGE Presents Ronaldo Tested to the Limit free on iTunes. The award-winning documentary was first released last year and showcased the Portugal and Real Madrid forward’s strengths in a series of challenges in the most scientific examination of a player ever undertaken.
In the challenge, Castrol EDGE Presents #RonaldoLIVE, fans enjoyed a chance to test Ronaldo’s reaction speed, shooting accuracy and strength under pressure as they challenged him to control and successfully strike a barrage of footballs at multiple targets.
With balls falling from chutes in the ceiling, fans who connected to the Castrol EDGE Presents #RonaldoLIVE Facebook app to watch live were selected at random to take part in the action by choosing Ronaldo’s target from a choice of four goals.
During the live 15 minute broadcast on Thursday 17th May, 180 countries were represented.

From Mongolia to Madagascar and Luxembourg to Lesotho, fans vied to take on their hero live in the world’s first interactive football challenge.
The #RonaldoLIVE hash tag also reached over 22.1 million people over three days.
