StubHub has expanded its presence in British sport after announcing a new partnership with Scottish Premier League champions Celtic FC.

The global ticket marketplace will have access to a range of brand marketing assets including TV-facing inventory, VIP experiences for Celtic fans, alongside digital, social and CRM rights.

The agreement will also see Celtic use StubHub as an additional distribution channel for its home match tickets. All tickets will be independently priced and listed by the Celtic Ticket office, and consistent with StubHub’s business approach StubHub will not price, purchase or own any tickets itself operating solely as a pure Ticket Marketplace.

The agreement is StubHub’s first Scottish Premier League Club partnership since launching in the UK in March last year, and expands an existing profile of sports rights holders including Everton, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints and Gloucester rugby.

Nick Harford, director of partnerships, International from StubHub commented: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Celtic Football Club. With passionate and faithful fans across the UK, as well as the US East Coast, Celtic will benefit from StubHub’s broad reach in both territories to help attract fans to Celtic Park. Consistent with all our partnerships, we will have an activation-focused approach and look forward to working closely with the Club to provide its fans with great experiences.’

Peter Lawwell, chief executive of Celtic Football Club added: ‘On behalf of everyone at Celtic, I am delighted to welcome StubHub to the Club’s family of partners. This partnership is great news for Celtic fans who may not be able to commit to coming to every home game but would still like to show their support and attend when they can. By using a safe, secure and trusted channel like StubHub, we hope to welcome fans from across the world to Celtic Park.’
