Scottish Premiership giant Celtic FC has signed what the club has called its “biggest-ever” sponsorship deal, extending its agreement with main shirt sponsor Dafabet for a further five years.
Financial terms of the new agreement have not been revealed, but the club has confirmed it represents a new record for Scottish football.
The current agreement had been due to end at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, but will now run until 2025.
Announcing the landmark agreement, Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said: “We are absolutely delighted to secure such a lucrative, long-term arrangement with Dafabet, a fantastic partner with whom we have already enjoyed such a great relationship.
“Celtic is currently in a terrific position on and off the field, achieving regular football success and with an infrastructure of strength and stability. Celtic continues to be one of the world’s great football clubs and through these strong fundamentals we continue to be able to attract and deliver such quality partnerships.”
Celtic, which is aiming for its eighth successive Scottish Premiership title this season, began its relationship with Dafabet in 2016.
The Philippines-based online gambling company has a strong presence in UK football. Earlier this year, Dafabet was announced as the new shirt sponsor of Premier League club Fulham, under a two-year deal.
