Scottish Premier League club Celtic is allegedly in the final stages with Nike for a shirt sponsorship deal that could be worth £29m.
Given the current economic situation, it was rumoured that Celtic would have to settle for less than their current deal with Nike, which will amount to paying the football club £25m by the time the current five-year contract ends this season.
However, it has been reported that the negotiations will benefit both parties and the renewal of the contract could even increase by £4m.
The deal would begin in July and could last up to five years, extending Nike’s support of the SPL club to a 10-year span.
Currently, the sport equipment company’s contract with Celtic expires at the end of the season.
