Inter Milan’s Champions League win is set to draw in a £103m windfall, according to a new study commissioned by tournament sponsor MasterCard.

The research also predicted the match was worth upwards of £302m across the European economy representing an increase of £35m on the previous year.

Bayern Munich is also set to make a £60m profit for making the Final, and the host city Madrid is to draw in £43m due to a short-term spending increase in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and across Madrid in bars, clubs, shops, hotels, city attractions and bookmakers.

The Final was held on a Saturday for the first time and the study predicts that this helped with profits due to people having more free time.

Worldwide television audience reach for the 2010 UEFA Champions League Final is expected to be 170m viewers.

The 2009 Final between Manchester United and FC Barcelona attracted an average television audience of 145.2m, eclipsing the Super Bowl, which gained an average audience of 106m.

Inter Milan won the match 2-0 after Argentinean striker Diego Milito struck twice.
