Channel 4 has snapped up the broadcast rights for the new Betfair Turbo Tennis
event described as the sport’s answer to Twenty20 cricket.

Channel 4 will broadcast extended coverage from the event which is being
staged at the new O2 Arena in London on 15th September with the semi-finals and
finals being shown live.

The event, which aims to appeal to a wider audience of tennis fans than the
traditional format of the sport especially young people, is a knock-out
tournament in which matches last no longer than 30 minutes.

The inaugural event will feature the likes of Andy Murray, Tim Henman, Goran
Ivanisevic and Pat Cash.

Channel 4 has appointed IMG Media to produce and distribute the coverage of
the event with the tournament itself being organised by another IMG-owned
company, Quintus.
