Chelsea Football Club has agreed a new partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products that will see the Barclays Premier League club collaborate with animated TV series The Simpsons.
The agreement will see a co-created line of Chelsea-branded merchandise featuring Springfield’s famous father and son, Homer and Bart Simpson.
To celebrate the announcement, five Chelsea players – Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Fernando Torres – have been ‘Simpson-ised’ (pictured above).
Terry said of the announcement: ‘It’s great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters. The Simpsons was and still is my favourite show, and is now my kids’ too. I can’t wait to see what Bart and Homer will look like as Chelsea players.’
Chelsea FC chief executive Ron Gourlay added: ‘We are very pleased to announce such an exciting partnership. The Simpsons is a hugely popular show and I hope Chelsea fans will enjoy seeing its main characters in our colours.’
The Simpsons, which was named the ‘Best Show of the 20th Century’ by Time Magazine, is the longest-running scripted show in TV history and is now in production on its 26th season.
