Despite reports that an Arab billionaire approached Chelsea with a bid, the club’s owner Roman Abramovich has remained steadfast in his desire not to sell.
Dr Sulaiman al-Fahim, who was a main player in the £200m buyout deal of Man City before he was ejected for inappropriate behaviour, has now been linked to making an offer on Chelsea.
The rumour comes in the wake of other speculation around player trades, including one that involved Didier Drogba moving to Man City, something Chelsea has repeatedly denied.
Abramovich has publicly stated that he does not intend to sell whatsoever and that Drogba is an asset to the club.
