Chelsea Foundation has launched a new programme aiming to drive girls’ participation in football, in partnership with Nike.
The five-year ‘Inspire Her’ initiative will look to drive change in 9-14-year-old girls, instilling long-term positive habits at a crucial period, where studies have revealed a drop in participation in sport.
Through the new programme, Chelsea Foundation will hope to empower girls within local communities, to inspire them to pursue their passions on and off the pitch, creating the next generation of female change makers and leaders across football.
Included within the scheme, the Chelsea Foundation will put on session that will focus on primary and secondary schools in local areas and work with girls from years 5 through to 9.
Chelsea Women’s captain and trustee of the Chelsea Foundation, Millie Bright, and Chelsea Women’s forward, Sam Kerr, have been appointed as ambassadors of Inspire Her.
To launch the programme, Chelsea Foundation has released a film across social media ahead of Chelsea Women’s game against Manchester City Women at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
