Chelsea FC have agreed a new global sponsorship deal with Rotary, which will also see midfielder Frank Lampard serve as an ambassador for the Swiss watch brand for the duration of the season.

As the club’s global official timekeeper – the first time Chelsea have partnered with a watch brand – Rotary will receive prominent branding around Stamford Bridge.

To highlight the new partnership, Rotary will produce two special edition Chelsea-themed watches, with a dedicated website set to launch soon.

Rotary chief executive Victoria Campbell said of the deal: ‘This is an extremely exciting sponsorship for Rotary and one that we are very proud of.’

‘Like us, Chelsea enjoys a long standing heritage and operates on the world stage. Our partnership represents a mutually beneficial strategic alliance given that we share many common values.’

‘We are committed to growing our brand awareness overseas particularly in South East Asia and Chelsea was our first choice given that their fan base in the region is huge.’

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea’s chief executive, added: ‘We have never partnered with a watch company until now but believe Rotary are a perfect fit as we share a similar outlook and goals.’

Chelsea continued a solid start to the new season under boss Jose Mourinho, with a 3-1 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road thanks to two late goals from substitutes Eden Hazard and Willian. The London club now sits in third place in the Barclays Premier League after 7 games.
