Global sports, events and talent management company IMG has acquired sports broadcast fibre service provider Cingularity.

According to IMG, the acquisition, financial details of which were not disclosed, will bolster ‘IMG Productions’ content delivery capabilities for federations, events and broadcasters.’

London-based Cingularity specialises in remote production video solutions and has worked closely with IMG in recent years to support remote production for clients, including Amazon for tennis and EuroLeague basketball.

‘As the market for remote production continues to rapidly grow and the world moves toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP, Cingularity’s cutting-edge, best-in-class technology will allow IMG to develop a bespoke in-house remote production solution incorporating connectivity. This will be an important addition to IMG’s suite of world-leading production/distribution services and solutions,’ IMG said in a statement.

Cingularity’s founder Dan Pope and his team, who are based in the UK and Stockholm, Sweden, will become part of IMG.
