Coca-cola Sponsors Premier Tennis League
Coca-Cola has been announced as the title sponsor of the inaugural International Premier Tennis League (IPTL).
The new multi-million dollar tournament, taking place from 28th November to 13th December, will feature a number of tennis stars from past and present with Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Pete Sampras and Maria Sharapova amongst those already confirmed.
The four teams – the Micromax Indian Aces, Singapore Slammers, Manila Mavericks and UAE Royals – include 21 Glam Slam champions and 14 current and former world number ones.
As part of the deal, Coca-Cola will participate in a series of initiatives to engage with tennis fans during the fortnight-long event, including a promotion to select three fans to be the coin-toss boy or girl for three matches.
In a statement, Debabrata Mukherjee, the vice president of marketing and commercial at Coca-Cola India, said: ‘Coca-Cola has always been a huge supporter to the cause of sport and we feel this partnership will further catalyse our efforts to promote healthy, active lifestyles by further enhancing a sporting culture in India.’
