talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports radio station, has announced the signing of Sony Gold winning radio presenter Colin Murray, who will be joining the station from 12th August – ahead of the start of the Barclays Premier League – covering the 10am to 1pm slot every weekday.

The host, who presented Match of the Day 2 on the BBC last season, will be accompanied by friends and colleagues from the world of sport and beyond, tackling the biggest daily sporting issues.

Colin Murray started his radio career at BBC Radio 1 before moving to BBC Radio 5Live and has won four Sony Radio Academy Gold Awards.

Murray joins talkSPORT’s team of high profile sports journalists and former sportsmen including Alan Brazil, Danny Kelly, Richard Keys, Andy Gray, Darren Gough, Adrian Durham, Stan Collymore, Sam Matterface, Ray Parlour, Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs.

talkSPORT programme director Liam Fisher said: ‘Colin Murray is a hugely talented sports broadcaster who brings further experience and creativity to our fantastic line-up. His 10-1pm programme will provide sports fans with an excellent mix of guests at the heart of sport, the very best debate and plenty of interaction with the audience. Our investment in sports rights and presenters continues to prove a winning combination and Colin’s addition comes at an exciting time following unparalleled exclusive British & Irish Lions coverage and the return of the Barclays Premier League next month.’

Colin Murray said: ‘I’m truly excited about creating this programme, and I hope it will become the morning ‘go to’ for UK sports fans. I will be joined by fascinating and knowledgeable guests every day offering up different opinions on issues and topics that you want to hear about throughout the week. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on my 5Live shows and with the BBC team and look forward to continuing my relationship with BBC Sport TV and 6 Music.’
