COPA90 is to sponsor the London Titans football tournament, taking place on London’s Wandsworth Common on 12th October.

The tournament – billed as one of the biggest LGBT+ football tournaments in London – will see seven teams from around the country competing and marks the London Titans’ 14th birthday.

The online publisher, whose Global Director of the Women’s Game, Bex Smith, will be on the judging panel for the Sport Industry Awards 2020, will support the Titans through the donation of the profits from their Pride t-shirts. The company also says that the sponsorship of the tournament forms part of a wider commitment to support the Titans through online storytelling as well as commissioning a film produced by a London Titans player earlier this year, which explores what it means to be gay and play football today.

Scott Fenton, VP of Marketing, COPA90, said: “We’ve always sought to tell amazing football stories, from transgender teams in Mexico to exploring the lack of openly gay footballers. So we’re delighted to continue our support of London Titans and the great work they are doing in the LGBT+ community. Being able to support such a fantastic initiative and showcase the work going on at grassroots level across the UK makes the Titans the perfect partner for COPA90.
