Coventry City has revealed UK digital bank Monzo as its front of shirt sponsor and principal partner for the 2024/25 EFL Championship season.

The one-year deel sees the company replace King of Shaves on the front of the Sky Blues’ shirts from the upcoming campaign.

The shaving oil brand became the club’s principal partner last season, and will retain kit inventory, serving as its back of shirt back of shirt sponsor for the next year.

King of Shaves was founded by Will King, the brother of Coventry’s incumbent majority owner Doug King, who acquired an 85% stake in the Sky Blues in January 2023.

The new partnership will grant further exposure for Monzo, which currently has a customer base of nine million, and has become the seventh largest retail bank in the UK since it was first established in 2015.

Coventry has also launched its new home-kit for 2024/25, featuring Monzo branding for the first time.

“We’re excited to partner with Coventry City, a historic and storied club that has inspired fans up and down the country with their runs to the playoffs and the FA Cup semi finals,” said AJ Coyne, Vice President of Marketing at Monzo.

“We both value a special connection with our communities and share a challenger mindset, so this was a match made in heaven.”

Doug King, Owner and Executive Chairman at Coventry City, added, “Monzo is a fantastic partner for Coventry City and we hope that this will be the start of a successful and long-term relationship with them.

“As Coventry City FC looks to the future, engaging with a new set of customers and fans to rebuild our football club to be a powerful force amongst our community and within our country, Monzo likewise is a company that is dynamic, disruptive and forward thinking in their industry.”
