Betfair has agreed new deals with Lawrence Dallaglio and Keith Wood ahead of the Rugby World Cup, who will become brand ambassadors for the tournament.
The former English and Irish forwards will work with Betfair to provide opinion throughout the competition, which kicks off tomorrow.
Included in the deal are a series of videos in which both men offer their opinion on a range of different aspects of the Rugby World Cup, including their fancied teams to lift the trophy in October.
Former England captain, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE commented: “I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to work with Betfair during this year’s World Cup, it’s an exciting time and it’s great to be working alongside my old Lions teammate again. I was lucky enough to be part of the World Cup winning side in 2003 so the tournament holds a lot of very special memories for me which I’m looking forward to sharing throughout this project.”
Former world player of the year, Keith Wood commented: “I’m thrilled to be working with Betfair for this year’s World Cup. Having played in three world cups, I can say that this one certainly has the potential be the best one yet and is easily one of the most competitive since its inauguration in 1987.”
Stephen Mault, head of media, PR and sponsorship at Betfair added: “We are delighted to have two heroes of the sport on board with Betfair for the Rugby World Cup. They will provide our customers with a truly unique insight into both the sport and the tournament itself, having taken part in six between them. We’re looking forward to seeing what the tournament has in store for us and our new ambassadors will have plenty to say as the drama unfolds.”
