Tom Ince and his father, Blackpool manager Paul Ince, have been appointed as the brand ambassadors of the Danone Nations Cup World Final.

The Danone Nations Cup is the world’s biggest international football tournament for 10 to 12-year olds with teams from over 32 countries set to travel to Wembley Stadium on 7th September to compete.

To mark the appointment, Tom and Paul Ince, visited the football team who will be representing England in the tournament. This year will be the first time the event has been staged in the UK.

Tom Ince, said of the tournament: ‘The Danone Nations Cup is a great way help children keep fit and gives them a great opportunity to play at Wembley. I can’t wait to be there when they compete for England in the World Final and I wish them the best of luck.’

Hugh Robertson, minister for Sport and Tourism, said the staging events such as the Danone Nations Cup was a key part of delivering an Olympic legacy: ‘We are delighted that London will host the 2013 World Final of the Danone Nations Cup. More than 400 children and their families from 32 countries will travel to the capital to take part at the iconic Wembley Stadium. Helping more children participate in sport is a key part of delivering a legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and so one year on there is no better place for the World Final to be held.’

Robertson added: ‘With over 2 million children participating in the competition worldwide, and over 40,000 in England, it’s a great example of how this competition is playing its part in increasing sports participation amongst young people. The 2013 World Final has been officially recognised as ‘Inspired by 2012′ and can use the emblem of the 2012 legacy campaign. By bringing this competition to the UK on the anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Danone has proven its commitments to helping deliver a sustainable activity, health and sports legacy.’
