David Price, the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion boxer, will be represented by Wasserman Media Group, joining London 2012 star Anthony Ogogo in the agency’s new boxing division.

Price, who is unbeaten as a professional boxer and won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, joins the likes of Jack Wilshere, Steven Gerrard and Mark Cavendish as part of the Wasserman athlete representation division.

Liverpool based Price, 29, fights Audley Harrison on October 13th at the Echo Arena Liverpool in his first defence of the British and Commonwealth titles he won against Sam Sexton earlier this year.

‘I’m really excited to be joining Wasserman,’ said Price. ‘They have a world class client list and I’m pleased to be adding their expertise to my existing team.  It’s incredibly important that I have the right people around me to allow me to focus all of my energies into my boxing – starting with the Harrison fight on October 13th.’

Dean Baker, head of Wasserman’s boxing division, said of the signing: ‘David is one of the most exciting heavyweight fighters in boxing and we’re delighted to welcome him to Wasserman. We believe that David will prove a genuine threat to the Klitschko brothers at the top of the heavyweight division and we’re looking forward to working with him.’

Sam Rush, President, Wasserman, added: ‘David has immense potential and we have no doubt he can make it at the very top of his sport. It’s an extremely exciting signing for us and he joins another of Britain’s most exciting young boxers, Anthony Ogogo, in our boxing division. We’re confident that we’ll be able to create exciting commercial opportunities for David.’
