The ATP has announced that Richard Davies will leave his position as ATP properties CEO at the end of this year.??
Davies has been responsible for sponsorship sales for the company since 2004, and was recently instrumental in the Tour’s securing of Corona Extra as its global premier partner.
??Adam Helfant, ATP executive chairman and president said of Davies’ departure: ‘We thank Richard for his many contributions to the ATP over the past six and a half years. Richard will be missed and we wish him the very best.’?
There are no immediate plans to fill the role, which will be managed internally in the interim.??
The ATP recently announced that the men’s tennis calendar will be shortened by two weeks from 2012 giving the players a seven-week off-season.
With events running from January to late November many players have argued for more rest time to prevent injury.
