The Davis Cup, international men’s tennis’ biggest team competition, has announced car manufacturer Lexus as its new official principal partner.

As part of the deal, Lexus will oversee the transportation of players and teams from the 16 nations involved to the tennis village during the tournament.

The event will be hosted across several cities, with the group stage taking place from 13th to 18th September in Glasgow, Bologna, Hamburg, and Valencia. Following this, knockout matches will be held from 22nd to 27th November in Malaga, Spain.

This is due to a new finals format that includes a nine-week rest period between the group and knockout stages.

Lexus claims that the new partnership has ‘a strong focus on Lexus Electrified, the brand’s ongoing sustainability vision’, with electric and hybrid models of Lexus vehicles featuring heavily at this year’s event.

The latest Generation Lexus RX will be used in games in Spain and Italy, while the Lexus RZ will be used in matches in Germany and the United Kingdom.

This is now Lexus’ second connection to the Davis Cup, with Spanish tennis player Roberto Bautista, a Lexus ambassador, competing for the second time.

Pascal Ruch, Vice President of Lexus Europe, commented, “The Davis Cup is one of the most iconic sporting competitions in the world, with a unique format across multiple European cities.

“Sport, and in particular tennis, is an opportunity to bring together top athletes and fans under one roof – many of whom are seeking luxury, that is personal to them and their passions. Lexus as a brand shares this affinity for incredible dedication to craft, unparalleled luxury and unmissable experiences”

David Ferrer, Director of the Davis Cup Finals, said, “It is a great luxury to be able to count on Lexus again for the third edition of the Finals. This year’s event is being staged in a multi-site format in four countries, and Lexus is demonstrating its enormous capacity for management, service and professionalism.

“We are confident that, as in the past, the world’s best players and teams will be delighted with the performance Lexus will provide at the competition.”
